Dual output ultra high accuracy LDO
ON Semiconductor Corp
Description
The NCP590 is a family of very high precision dual-output CMOS LDOs offered in a 2x2 DFN8 package. Each output is capable of delivering up to 300 mA and is available in voltages from 0.8 V to 5V.The set point output voltage is accurate to within +/-0.9% with an operating voltage input up to 5.5 V. With its ultra low dropout characteristics and low quiescent and ground current consumption, the NCP590 is ideal for all battery operated consumer and microprocessor applications. The NCP590 is protected against short circuit and thermal overload conditions.
Features
Dual Outputs, Each Supporting up to 300 mA Current Space saving feature when compared to two individual LDOs. Available in Output Combinations Ranging from 0.8 V to 5.0 V Multiple variations provide solutions for any designs. 2.1 V to 5.5 V VCC Operating Supply Range Low battery operation keeps system operational on weak batteries. Each Output has a Dedicated Enable Control Pin Low current comsumption when operating only one output. Enable Threshold Supports sub-1 V Systems Device supports latest interface technology. Very Low Drop Out Voltage (50 mV typ @ 100 mA load) Low dropout keeps system operational on weak batteries. Low Noise (~20 uVrms) without Bypass Capacitor Keeps system level interface issues to a minimum. Ultra Low Shutdown Current (0.2 uA) Low standby current keeps battery drain to a minimum. Low Quiescent and Ground Current (80 - 100 uA typ.) Low operational current keeps battery drain to a minimum. Thermal Shutdown and Current Limit Protection Robust part maintains high system level performance. Active Output Discharge when Disabled Fast turn-off times. No Minimum Output Current Required for Stability Operation at low currents keeps battery drain to a minimum. Requires Cout of only 1.0 uF (any ESR) for Stability Provides low system level cost. Stable with Any Type of Capacitor (including MLCC) and Zero Load Operation with a wide variety of external components allows low sytem level cost. Input Under Voltage Lock Out (UVLO) Provides a predictable turn-on. Internally Compensated Regulator for Quick Transient Response Maintains accurate regulation during transient events.
