What is FlexRay?
An automotive network communications protocol under development by the FlexRay Consortium. It is considered better than CAN and MOST both in terms of performance and price. Its key features are: 10Mbps data rate, time-triggered behaviour, redundancy, safety, and fault-tolerance. The core member companies of the FlexRay Consortium are BMW, Bosch, DaimlerChrysler, Freescale, GM, Philips and Volkswagen.
