Hard disk drive (or hard drive) is the primary computer storage device. It stores digitally-encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. These days, HDD usage goes beyond the computer with its application expanding into products such as digital video recorders, video game consoles, even mobile phones.
