What is multiplexer?
Sometimes refered to by its acronym, MUX, it is a device that enables two or more signals (analog or digital) to be transmitted over the same circuit by temporarily combining them into a single signal. On the receiving end, the signals are divided again by a demultiplexer. One use for multiplexers is cost savings by connecting a multiplexer and a demultiplexer (or demux) together over a single channel. The cost of implementing separate channels for each data source is more expensive than the cost and inconvenience of providing the multiplexing/demultiplexing functions.

What is CMOS?
Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor, or commonly referred to as CMOS, is a type of IC which includes microprocessor, microcontroller, static RAM and other digital logic circuits.
