The continued listing of major brands of 5G devices is reshaping the Chinese smartphone market.
The third quarter has always been the traditional peak season for consumer electronics in China. After half a year of market downturn, major mobile phone manufacturers are looking forward to using 5G communication products to reactivate consumer enthusiasm. First-tier manufacturers including Huawei and Samsung Electronics will release new 5G mobile phones in August, and the entire consumer electronics industry chain is expected to enter the peak of stocking.
At the same time, influenced by external factors, the concept of China's smartphone industry chain's self-controllability has gradually advanced. With the recent launch of Huawei's operating system, the consumer electronics industry chain is expected to continue to become the focus of the market in the third quarter.
Major brands of 5G mobile phones continue to be listed
There were 34.2 million smartphones shipped in China in July, down 7.5% compared with last year, according to China Telecomtsu. A total of 36 models of smartphones were launched in July, according to the same report, down 44.6% year-on-year.
Samsung S10 5G, Note10, A90
As early as April this year, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G took the lead in South Korea. It is reported that the phone was sold in South Korea for only 80 days, and the total sales volume exceeded 1 million units. Samsung also said the Galaxy S10 5G will be sold in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, mainly through cooperation with major local operators.
Samsung has not announced the exact time for listing in China, but launched the 5G Pioneer Experience Program, which enables a 4G mobile phone that meets the standard to be redeemed for 5G models after the 5G mobile phone is released.
According to China Unicom, Samsung in September will focus on two 5G mobile phones, Note 10 5G and A90 5G. At the beginning of this month, Samsung brought out the Samsung Note10 series and its 5G version in New York. The issue price of the Bank of China, which is as high as 8,299 yuan (about $1,170), has made it the most expensive 5G mobile phone.
The Samsung A90 5G is a mid-range 5G mobile phone with the internal codename "Samsung R Series." In terms of configuration, the handset may be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform or Samsung Exynos 9820 processor. It features three cameras at the rear and uses a full screen design.
Huawei Mate20 X, Mate30 series
Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) went on sale August 16. According to incomplete statistics, as of August 13, the cumulative number of online orders reached 730,000. This model is currently the only commercial 5G dual-mode mobile phone that supports SA/NSA. It also supports 5G+4G dual-card dual-standby, which greatly enhances convenience. The retail price is 6,199 yuan (about $880).
According to sources, Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei's consumer business software, recently confirmed that Huawei's Mate 30 series smartphones will be officially launched on September 19. In addition to the latest Kirin 990 chip, the handset is expected to feature Huawei's EMUI 10 operating system.
Zhongxing Tianji Axon 10 Pro
After the first 5G mobile phone was publicly listed on the major e-commerce platforms in early August, the three major domestic operators were not far behind. China Telecom took the lead with the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G version in nearly 200 core business halls in 47 cities. The smartphone starts at a price of 4,999 yuan (about $710).
It is believed that the specific configuration of ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G version is the same as the normal version. The only difference is that it supports the 5G network by supporting Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and external X50 baseband chip, and supports the NSA standard.
Xiaomi's first 5G mobile phone
Last week, Xiaomi announced that it will release Xiaomi's second 5G flagship phone in the near future, but did not announce its specific product name. Some netizens reported that the handset will be known "Millet 9s," but this is unconfirmed.
According to a listing with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, only the model number of the phone can be seen, M1908F1XE, and the charging power is 45W. For this phone, there are two two theories in the industry: one is that Xiaomi will release a new version of the flagship MIX4, and the other is that it will be an upgraded version of the Xiaomi 9. From the current information, the latter may be larger. It is worth noting that the previous product model has the word 5G, but the Millet 9S does not; therefore, it is speculated that the Millet 9S will be a product compatible with 4G and 5G networks.
iQOO Pro, vivo NEX 5G
Since last year, vivo has gradually removed its original “high price and low price” label with its innovative technology and new iQOO brand, so that it has gradually reached the forefront of the industry under the competition of 5G mobile phones. According to reports, the iQOO Pro 5G version has been connected to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the model of this machine is V1916A. According to iQOO, iQOO Pro will be released in Beijing on August 22.
From the official Weibo released by China Unicom, the vivo NEX 3 is also likely to be the second 5G mobile phone after the vivo iQOO Pro. In terms of hardware configuration, the vivo NEX 3 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 855 Plus. In addition, the "Waterfall Screen" design will displace the front camera logo, and the vivo NEX 3 will most likely support the under-screen camera.
One plus 5G mobile phone will be sold in the U.S.
In addition, there is a “small and beautiful” domestic mobile phone manufacturer that is supplying 5G mobile phones to the foreign mobile phone market. On August 6, U.S. mobile operator Sprint announced that it will launch a 5G smartphone produced by China OnePlus, but did not disclose the time to market and its price. U.S. media said that one plus 5G smartphone will become the fourth 5G device of Sprint after LG V50, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and HTC 5G Hub.
