Mindtree's Vice President, Joelle Smith, has received the 2016 “Women Worth Watching” award by Profiles in Diversity Journal. We talked to the company about diversity in India.
Mindtree's Vice President, Joelle Smith, has received the 2016 “Women Worth Watching” award by Profiles in Diversity Journal. Smith leads their Travel, Transportation & Hospitality Industry Group Head.
Smith was recently promoted to VP and asked to head Mindtree’s Travel, Transportation & Hospitality Industry Group of more than 1,400 Mindtree Minds worldwide. Prior to this role, she was responsible for leading the company's first U.S. Delivery Center and spearheading the Global Agile Center of Excellence in Gainesville, Florida. At the delivery centre, Smith created over 300 local STEM jobs and built a workforce that is predominantly local.

Smith is a mentor for Emerging Women in Technology Start-ups and executive sponsor for Women in Leadership at Mindtree. She is also a board member for the University of Florida College of Engineering and Industry Advisory Board Member for Computer Information Systems and Engineering. She helped secure a baccalaureate degree program in Information Technology at the Santa Fe College and serves as an Executive Committee and Board Member of the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce.
