The companies are working to integrate Ansys' power integrity RedHawk technology with Synopsys' IC Compiler II physical implementation.
Ansys Inc. and Synopsys Inc. are working together to integrate Ansys' power integrity and reliability signoff RedHawk technology with Synopsys' IC Compiler II physical implementation solution for in-design use.
The companies believe that designers have been using Ansys and Synopsys tools in combination and that an integrated solution will enable common customers to apply power integrity and reliability signoff technologies earlier in the design flow.
Optimising design flow
The integration of technologies will provide earlier signoff accuracy within the Synopsys design environment, the companies said. This integration will allow rapid design exploration, design weakness detection, optimisation and thermal-aware reliability through increased functionality within the place-and-route environment, they added. The in-design power integrity and reliability signoff-driven flow will eliminate late design changes and ensure consistency with final chip-package-system signoff analyses with RedHawk.
Synopsys and Ansys will also provide a feedback loop between the two solutions, Synopsys PrimeTime and Ansys RedHawk. Voltage-aware timing analysis will be performed rapidly to avoid additional guard-banding and design margining.
