pSemi Corp., a Murata company, has opened a design center in Chennai, India to support the growing demand for semiconductor products driven by 5G and Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications.
pSemi's India office, featuring labs and office space, will accelerate the scalability of a strong engineering team and the development of new design innovations for cellular RF front-end modules, sensor systems-on-a-chip (SOCs) and power management integrated circuits (PMICs).
In a company statement, pSemi CEO Sumit Tomar said, "India is emerging as the largest mobile phone manufacturing hub in the world. With our new India design center, we want to attract top talent and further expand our engagements with customers, partners and the smartphone ecosystem."
Tomar added that they plan to expand into other cities. "We plan to scale up rapidly; our hiring plan is limited only by the availability of talent," he said.
The establishment of the design center comes on the heels of pSemi's recent product portfolio growth in 5G, wireless connectivity, power management and sensors, along with increased IC content in smartphones and mobile applications. Furthermore, the pSemi India design center will serve as a close liaison between pSemi and Murata, strengthening the companies' long-term success and operational growth with higher levels of integration and functionality in IC and package design.
The design center is located at Level 9, Olympia Teknos Park, No. 28 SIDCO Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai, 600032. In line with this, the company is
actively hiring.
