The data centre SoCs integrate Broadcom's NetXtreme Ethernet controller and TruFlow packet processing technology.
Broadcom Ltd is targeting smart NIC and scale-out storage applications with the launch of BCM58800 series of data centre SoCs. The BCM58800 uses the 16nm FinFET+ process to minimise power consumption and enable high CPU performance in a compact package.
Key features of the BCM58800:
Broadcom is sampling the compact BCM58802 controller in a production smart NIC form-factor (half-height, half-length PCIe 3.0 NIC) along with the BCM58808 controller in an ATX-style platform for storage target evaluation.
